The new international trailer for the 5th Harry Potter movie, The Order of the Phoenix was released yesterday…
My favorite part:
Hermione: It’s really exciting, isn’t it? Breaking the laws.
Ron: Who are you and what have you done with Hermione Granger?
The trailer is AWESOME, and I’m looking forward to the movie, but not nearly as much as the 7th book. This is probably the only series where I would prefer the book to the movie. Not that the movies aren’t great, though. I really think that they handled the movies very well. They could have easily just been crap. They’re not as good as the books, but they do a good job of interpeting them.
Vixy.net is a new online converter for videos from YouTube and .flv (flash) files. Aaron explains it well on Macuser:
Seen a viral YouTube video that you just have to put on your iPod, but don’t want to worry about money, complexity, or processing power? Meet the vixy.net Online FLV Converter. It’s quite a simple yet ingenious design — you simply put in the link for a flash file or YouTube video, select the format you want (AVI, MOV, MP4 for iPod/PSP, 3GP, and audio-only MP3), wait for the remote servers to the converting magic, and download your newly converted video at the prompt. It works great, and the only real downsides are a limited selection of conversion choices, no preferences for changing resolution, bitrate, etc., and really long filenames for the downloaded files (though that could just be the original filenames from YouTube).
Indeed, it works well and fast. And it’s so simple!
A couple of weeks ago my parents and I went up to Vermont to see their friends Joyce and Henrik. Joyce and Henrik’s kids are Peter and Maraika, who are the other two people that you see in the following movie, called “The Attack of the Incredibly Crazy Dude.”
The file is a 20MB Windows Media File (.wmv), and it’s 5 minutes long. Sorry, no picture.
The Attack of the Incredibly Crazy Dude 4:47
Short film made with Peter and Maraika in Vermont. It consists of 2 SCAAAARY deaths (although one comes back to life) and an 8-year-old Incredibly Crazy Dude.
One month from today (March 24, 2007) is Shutdown Day! That means that people are going to shut down their computers and, get this, not use them for 24 hours. I could probably do this if it weren’t on a SATURDAY!!! I mean, if it were like a Tuesday, then it’d probably be OK, but a Saturday? Still, I’ll give it a try when it happens.
Note that Shutdown Day doesn’t appear to be a “national holiday” or anything, but just a very well done idea that seems to have created a pretty big following.

Netsua is his personal blog and website, where he writes about a variety of topics that interest him. The word "Netsua" is in fact Austen's name spelled backwards. It literally translates from gibberish to "Greatness on the level of Austen."
