I’ve finished my lego movie! It’s called “Bounty Hunter” and uses over 1,000 still shots and stop motion to make my lego dudes move like regular people.
It took about 3 days to film and edit, and is made up entirely of still shots. No videos were used in this movie. Enjoy!
The YouTube version is compressed, so you can download/watch a much higher quality 12MB quicktime version here.
Parts of the movie were inspired by movies like V for Vendetta (sword throwing), Star Wars (chase scene) and 300 (blood splatters).

Wow! Had a problem because the video kept stoping periodically and we had to wait or cue the arrow to get it going again. But what an imaginative piece! I loved the chase and the crashes and runovers and the particularly the sound effects. Boys like this kind of stuff.
It reminded me a bit of your Uncle Bob’s 16mm film black and white (frame by frame) animation when he was about your age. That too– took days. Good work!

Nice piece of work Austen!!!! Who knew that lego men bled?

I’m guessing that you used imovie to do this? How was the learning curve?
Well, I’ve used iMovie before at camp but not too extensively. It was actually really easy to use and learn. There were a couple of things that were annoying, but mostly it’s a great movie making program.
GREAT!!! Where did you get all of the sound effects?? iMovie does not have that many does it???
Well, mine did. It’s the old iMovie 6 but it came with a ton of sound effects. Without them, I don’t think the movie would have been very good.
How did you get the electricity to come out of the cars?
It’s an iMovie effect.
