The universe is pretty big

I just discovered this cool flash app that shows everything from neutrons all the way to the universe ourself - in scale. Very cool, done by Nikon

The Universe to Scale

And I though Sin City was violent

Just saw 300. In Imax. Wow. Very big. Very loud. Very violent. Very cool. I didn’t love or hate the movie. On one hand, technically and visually it’s amazing, but on the other hand the violence could have been cut (or sliced) down a bit. Full review coming soon.

Seeing 300 on Tuesday

I’m seeing 300 Tuesday afternoon with Film Club!!! Yay! Expect a review shortly afterwards. Here’s a couple things I did to the 300 poster:

“Glory” was changed to “Gory” also.

Twitter rocks

In case you haven’t heard of Twitter, it’s only the coolest thing since gummy bears. Basically, it’s a cross between Instant Messaging and Blogs. You sign up at Twitter.com and you can make people your friends, and then start “Tweeting.” All of your friends will see your tweets either by IM, by checking the Twitter website, or an external program like Twitterific or Twiteroo.

Twitter also allows you to make a flash badge to show your most recent Tweets. This can be found on the right sidebar of this site, on the pages. But what are your tweets about? Usually what you’re doing. For instance, sometimes I’ll just say “Just woke up, dreading school.” But other times I may say, “Updating Netsua.” Finally, the most fun is to respond to other Tweets. Take this makeshift conversation between Aaron and I: (I’m swruler9284, he’s thoth92)

Of course, all of my friends will at least see my side of the conversation, so this is a very public conversation, so posting it on here doesn’t really make a difference. AND… Aaron spelled Pesach wrong! Would YOU know what he was talking about if he just said that he wanted to go Israel for Peach(es)???

The Attack of the Incredibly Crazy Dude

A couple of weeks ago my parents and I went up to Vermont to see their friends Joyce and Henrik. Joyce and Henrik’s kids are Peter and Maraika, who are the other two people that you see in the following movie, called “The Attack of the Incredibly Crazy Dude.”

The file is a 20MB Windows Media File (.wmv), and it’s 5 minutes long. Sorry, no picture.

The Attack of the Incredibly Crazy Dude

Short film made with Peter and Maraika in Vermont. It consists of 2 SCAAAARY deaths (although one comes back to life) and an 8-year-old Incredibly Crazy Dude.

Google (NOT) working on a cellphone

From CNet News…

The head of Google in Spain and Portugal has confirmed that Google is working on a mobile phone. “Some of the time the engineers are dedicated to developing a mobile phone,” Isabel Aguilera is quoted as saying on the Spanish-news Web site Noticias.com.

Never mind, apparently it was just a rumor, and it’s been proven false:

Happy Birthday, Vance!

Today is my nephew Vance’s birthday! Happy Birthday!

Today was Shutdown Day??? Whoops

Remember Shutdown Day? The day when you’re supposed to shut off your computer? Yeah, um… bad luck sort of made my huge website revamp just HAPPEN to be on Shutdown Day.

But in my defense I had forgotten until about 2:00, and then it was already too late. Also, I never said I’d do it. I  said that I would try.
