2 years

It was 2 years and 5 days ago that I started this blog! And it has been almost three years (early 2004) since I started Netsua!

Wohoo!!! 2 years old! One year ago I was still on Blogger… and was about to go to my Beacon High School interview. And now I’m at Beacon! Awesome!!!

Eragon - a great book, a hopefully good movie

I’m not the type of person who could read through just one of the Lord of the Rings books (Trust me, I’ve tried about 3 times), so a book like Eragon is pretty cool for me. It’s a fantasy just like LOTR but by a 20 year old kid about dragons and stuff - it’s really good, and the sequel Eldest is even better. And the movie based on the book comes out this Christmas holiday season. I’m looking forward to it and hope it’s good, but you never know. Movies that are made this fast after a book comes out just seem rushed *cough* DA VINCI CODE *cough*.

Still, I’ll see it. Anyway, basically the whole point of this post was really to show you this:

I made this 1024×768 desktop wallpaper using only this poster for the movie. Never, and I mean NEVER underestimate the power of copying, pasting, fading, flipping and just altogether expanding clouds. All of the stuff at the bottom of the wallpaper that wasn’t in the original picture is mostly just the cloud parts of the poster pasted around, as well as some of Saphira’s (the dragon’s) neck.

Last.fm - the social music revolution

Last.fm is a cross between Pandora, Launchcast and Myspace. Only, it’s much better looking than all of them combined. (Okay, Pandora isn’t THAT bad, but Last.fm looks much better.)

What separates Last.fm from Pandora is that (1) it has an entire website interface, instead of just a small Flash application, (2) it determines music not by fancy musical terms like “mixed male and female vocal harmonies” but by what other people like (like Launchcast) and by what YOU listen to, (3) it primarily plays music through a desktop application, as opposed to an online player (although it does have a very simple flash one online for people who are just weird like that.)

About the balloons

I know my birthday was over 2 weeks ago, but I don’t care. The balloons are staying in the header, perhaps till thanksgiving.

Why? Because I’m to lazy to change it. That’s right, it’s easier to write this post than changing the header.
