Google Page Creator

They started out as a simple web search engine, then they searched images, groups, news, books, movie showtimes, you could explore the world, explore your desktop, email, and now…. Google gives you the tools to create your own webiste. If you have a google account (which is totally free) you can get a webpage hosted on google, for free! It’s a VERY simple website builder, great for beginners and the such. The templates are similar to blogger templates in style, and in numbers, and it looks like a GREAT beginner website builder. It lets you create a pretty proffessional website in minutes, and is easy to use too.

And your site is automatically generated as “mygoogleusername.googlepages.com” and then you can change it too! It even allows you to upload things, all completely FREE!!! So if you’d like to make your own little website, google page creator is great for you. You can start building webpages here.

Vacation is almost over

The past week has been a vacation from school. In other words, this past week has been homework-free. In other words, this past week was fun. In other words, this past week was AWESOME!

And this past week ends today (sunday) and then tommorow it’s back to school.

I hate school.

Mom’s new computer

It’s that time again….. choosing a new computer. (dun dun DUN)

After many painstaking weeks (literally) of choosing and unchoosing, and deals and discounts ending and much more, my mom has finally ordered her computer!

It’s supposed to be here between tuesday and friday of not next week but the week after (too lazy to look up the exact date.)

Here are it’s BASIC tech specs:

  • 2 gigabytes of RAM - that’s right 2 full gigs of RAM, it’s gonna go SOO fast!
  • 17 inch flat screen monitor
  • 2.8 GHz proccessor
  • 60 GB harddrive

So it’s a pretty good computer for just under $1,400. So why am I talking about it on my blog? Because I helped pick it out with all the options and because since my dad recently go a new mac laptop… that means I’m next. I mean come on - out of the entire family I use the computer the most (well my mom works on it - but that doesn’t count!) and I have the oldest computer now! So soon enough I will have a new computer! Oh, and there’s a free keyboard, mouse, printer (I’ll get my mom’s old one), and speakers that come with it, so those will go to me.

Great computer pranks

I recently came across a site which had a bunch of prank programs for computers. They range from the start menu running away from your mouse when you try to click it, to simulating a fake shutdown on your computer where the only option is “OK” then after 8 seconds it goes back to the normal computer, explaining everything.

The site is RJL Software’s Entertainment page. They have a LOT of stuff on there, and if you have any windows operating system from the past ten years (95-XP) they all work. They’re all fun to use, and great to play on friends and they’re all free.
RJL Software also has a few utilities like a desktop wallpaper changer, an “Autorun wizard” and more. So check them out now!

Spidey 3

I recently bought both Spiderman 1 and 2 on DVD in a set and I have been enjoying the special features, and of course the movies themselves. But there’s still one more: Spider-Man 3; the dark finale to the spiderman movie series! The poster was recently released though it’s not coming out till 2007! That means at least 4 or 5 months before the trailer! Aww.

Peter Jackson… He lost some weight!

When Peter Jackson was working on Lord of the Rings, he was a pretty hefty guy, but between then and King Kong he REALLY lost some weight. He looks like 10 years younger!

Lost

I would just like to again state how much I love the TV show Lost. It’s the best TV show out there. It’s just SOOOO good, and it has retained its greatness through almost 2 full seasons now. I own the entire first season on DVD and every wednsday eagerly wait for each new episode. Andrew Sims, who is the host of Mugglecast, a Harry Potter podcast has a blog where he has this to say about the show:

He then went on and posted a chat history which I left out for fear of him having more space on the post than me.

The characters are all just a great lineup, from a fat(ter) guy who won the lottery and thinks the numbers he used were cursed, to an Iraqi torturer who fell in love with his torturee (don’t care if it’s not a word). To a fugitive who (she’s a woman) killed the man she loved and her own father, both without wishing to. The series is great, because every episode it cuts between actions on the island and a specific character’s life (flashbacks) before the plane crash. It affects that characters actions on the island, and there are always mysteries coming around and actually being solved eventually.

Me, my mom and my dad all watch it. I also know that my Uncle Bob watches it. Wish I could say Aaron watches it, but for some reason he’s resistant to it.
I highly recommend this show to anyone. Like Andrew said, you should get season 1 on dvd, and watch that before season 2, but just watch it. Take a look at one episode. Clues and such… just try out watching the show. Trust me, you’ll thank me in the end.

New York City Pics Photoset

I’ve been taking a lot of pictures lately. I go some pictures from some incident involving the polic in front of our building the other day, and I’ve also gotten a bunch of pics from central park from the past few days when I brought my camera with my bike. I know, I know…. camera + bike = no good. And even worse: camera + bike at same time = DEATH. Yeah well, I happen to be particulary good at riding and pedaling a bike without any hands. So yeah, you can check them all out here.

Flickr & WebImager

I found a cool little tool that lets take screenshots of pages and upload them directly to Flickr. It takes great high-quality screenshots of things and then lets you crop it, add effects, and upload it to flickr with descripitions and tags. The screen capture function that comes with my computer only does it at low quality and you have to open a photo editing program to paste it in, then save it. Now it’s much easier and high quality! It’s free, and although the name is pretty lame, it’s nice and simple - just what I need. So be sure to check it out!

Below is my profile on teentechbuzz.com It’s just a picture - a screenshot taken and croped using Flickr and WebImager. As you can see, the quality is so good that it blends in with the real text seamlessly!

Flickr is great

The flickr pro account is great, I have no trouble with memory - there’s plenty and everything runs smoothly. Due to flickr encouraging me to take a picture of everything deemed possibly a good picture, I will try to keep down the posts for whenever I put a new picture or two on flickr. I will post on the main page when I put a new photoset, like say an entire vacation, but I will usually not post for one picture of the sunrise in the morning.

To see my most recent photos, you can look at the flickr badge-thing under my profile (updated for the past weeks events!) on the sidebar which shows my 5 most recently updated photos. Or you can just click on the photo page and see if there are any new photosets. So here’s just one more: I added a “School Stuff” photoset that has some pics of my (with dad’s help) model of the louvre and it’s glass pyramids, my high school acceptance letter, and a picture I took a while back of my homework over one weekend. Enjoy!

Photoshop Category

I just added a photoshop category to my list of Flickr sets. It currently has about 20 photos, most of them have already been posted on older versions of this site or on the old blog, but I think it’s nice to bring them all together. There is one new one, though:

Also, did you know that Flickr was actually owned by Yahoo? Interesting, because I never really like yahoo - always perferred google to it. Looks like that changed yesterday when I bought the Flickr Pro account.

More Blizzard!

Although the blizzard is over, I’ve updated the photo gallery with some “after effect” pictures. You can find them here.

Christmas 2005 and more changes

I just added pictures (well, frames from the movies, the pictures are a bit dull) from Christmas 2005 (or should I say 2006 because of finding a time that we were all free). Take a look at them here.
I also did got rid of the old pictures page and the dummie page, adding all of the sub pages to their correct pages. On the right sidebar of “literature” and “movies” you can see the subpages aka the actual literature and movies. I have the crusader series up, embedded through youtube. Finally, I added a flickr sidebar thing that shows 5 random images and links to the photo page to remind people of it just for fun and because it looks cool. I also added the sub-title under Netsua.com “Everyone’s favorite person - only backwards”.
I plan to get a real banner soon, I just have to figure out how to do it and maybe get some of aaron’s help on this. You can see some banners that I did in this photoset along with other images that help make up the site like the new pictures that go on the movies and literature page that show pen writing something and my camera.

Blizzard!

Okay, it’s not the end of the world or anything, but a blizzard hit NYC overnight. (with lots of thunder, too - it woke me up!)

I took a few pictures out the window this morning and uploaded them to flickr. You can check them out here.

Speaking of flickr, because I got into Beacon AND Bronx Science, my parents (no, no, I’m sorrry… My DAD… Mom refused to pay for it) got me the flickr pro acount! The problem before was that I couldn’t make more than 3 photosets (I know, it’s evil) which means that I could only have 3 “folders” like Maine or Paris. But now I have 2 gigs of upload space a month and unlimited photosets, and some other cool stuff.

Earth’s Last War Update

Iv’e done some more of the cartoon I posted about a month ago plus there are some sounds, but a lot of them (especially at the end) aren’t final. Enjoy!
